For New Hampshire Public Radio, NHPR, we created a web and social series built around a simple premise. Half the story is the people telling it. At a time when trust in news feels fragile, NHPR’s strength is its boots on the ground reporting and its commitment to serving communities across New Hampshire. Rather than overproduce the message, we leaned into restraint. No heavy visual effects. No unnecessary spectacle. Just real reporters, in real environments, talking about why their work matters. The series featured journalists in the field and in the newsroom. Microphones in hand. Notebooks open. Conversations happening in parking lots, town halls, and quiet studio corners. We focused on mission and values. Accuracy. Accountability. Curiosity. Service to listeners. Visually, the approach was intimate and grounded. Natural light. Honest framing. A camera that feels present but not intrusive. The goal was to create space for authenticity, allowing each reporter to speak directly to current and potential listeners about what drives them and why local journalism is essential now more than ever. This was not about production flash. It was about connection. A human-centered video series that strengthens NHPR’s bond with its audience and reinforces its role as a trusted voice in the state.
